Hotel Caravel

Good Rome accommodation

Pros: Clean, large comfy bed, non-touristic area. Very good Italian eating place nearby. Lots of coffee and pastry places due to offices in the area. Good connections to main attractions, via bus or subway (10-15 min walk). We would return.

Cons: There was no minibar / fridge in the room - but we were aware about it from the other reviews. Still, you would expect it for a 4 star.

Pros: I stayed here with a tour group. We were able to use the restaurant for evening meals and reflection time.

Cons: Very congested inside when groups are arriving or departing. It is not a central Rome hotel for sightseeing, but is good for group tours.

No problems!

Pros: It was just an overnight stop for me. The room was spacious with a decent bathroom and large rooftop balcony. I left my luggage with them for the day in a secure room and there was space to relax in the lobby before moving on.

Cons: I didn't thoroughly explore the area, but it felt a little out of the way and not very well connected. However this is not a comment on the hotel.

It has everything you need, reasonable priced.

Pros: The breakfast was good. Bacon and eggs and a nice selection of pastries. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons: The location wasn’t very central. We spent a lot on taxis. The metro was a long walk from the hotel and it felt unsafe with pick pockets. We had a close encounter with one. We decided not to take the metro after that.

Good value

Pros: The room was quite large and the bathroom was suitable even for two people at the same time. There were minor flaws due to a lack of maintenance in my room. I also appreciated the vending machines on the floor for water and snacks. The bus stops were very close too.

I would stay here again!

Pros: I had expected this hotel to be a little shabby but it was in great condition and offered great facilities. The breakfast was very good (although the breakfast room was a bit cold) and they had gluten-free bread on hand. The location was perfect for my purposes, with both Garbatella metro station and Eataly within walking distance (less than 30 minutes). I would stay here again!

Cons: I had no complaints about this but future visitors should be aware that Hotel Caravel does NOT have kettles or coffee machines in the rooms. There's a (coffee) bar a few metres away outside and the hotel's (cocktail) bar is open in the evenings.

Bright, airy, spacious room with a huge bed. Loved it.

Pros: The room was big, the bed was big, the bathroom was big and had a proper bath in it. Very light, airy, comfortable and friendly. My daughter lives in Garbatella, so this is a perfect find for me.

Short walk to the artgallery, bus connection to termini, and via appia very close with playgrounds for kids.

Pros: Nice and well -decorated rooms. Breakfast very good. I liked size of the room and bathroom with bath tube. Warm, cozy and nice tv worked

Cons: We stayed 4nights . Nobody cleaned during those days. My baby uses diapers (panollini) 4 pcs/day and they smelled. Otherwise no complaints

Pros: Good, clean, inexpensive and easy access to centre. One bus ride away.

A good hotel for staying in Rome.

Pros: A clean property, nice staff working, everything necessary is in the room.
