River Palace Hotel

Great hotel in an amazing city!

Pros: The charm, decor and location are excellent. Staff are extremely pleasant and professional and very helpful Beds were very comfortable and nice selection of toiletries provided. Nice breakfast choices if a little expensive at 20E pp (if not included in stay).

Cons: Room was very small and not enough hanging space/hangers for clothes (3 hangers between 2 of us). Room temperature a little uncomfortable as was very warm and despite turning heat down, was still too warm. Outside temperatures were 20 degrees. No kettle or hot drink making facilities in the room. Was able to bring hot drink up from the bar though.

Pros: The building was really nice. The room was a bit small but with a good sized bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast tasty and abundant. Position great as it is super close to a tube station and 10 Min walking to the Spanish Steps. However, the selling point of this place is the staff: very kind and professional and keen to make you happy. I really liked it!

Pros: the staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble. the room is very clean and the whole hotel has a luxurious feel without being pretentious. the location is very good with bars restaurants and supermarkets close by

Convenient location, lovely staff and good breakfast

Pros: Our room was located on the 6th floor and was very comfortable with everything we needed. The breakfast provided was very good and the hotel is easy to get to linked by the metro and buses. The metro stop 'Flaminio' is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. We liked the area because it wasn't as busy as the centre of Rome is.

Cons: Although our room was perfect in every other way, it was very small. The bathroom was also small. We would like to stay here again when in Rome but will request a larger room.

Pros: - Excellent location near the metro station and slightly outside the city centre, meaning it's quieter. There is a supermarket and many restaurants nearby. - The staff are very friendly, and all spoke good English. - The room size was small, compared to the photos. But it was fine for our 2-night stay, as we didn't have that much luggage and were mostly out during the day. - We were located on the 3rd floor and had to take 2 lifts - the 2nd lift was rather small, so beware. - Breakfast had a decent selection. It was on the smaller side but had the essentials like eggs, meats, and fruits. There were also plenty of tables available. - It rained on our first day, and the hotel had umbrellas free to use for the guests.

Cons: Nothing.

Hidden gem

Pros: Fantastic location, room was spotless and staff were exceptional. We left our bags at 9 am before heading on a tour and came back and were told we had been upgraded and bags were already in room. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough and hope to stay here again!

Cons: Nothing, was perfect.

Pros: Everything. The location is perfect for exploring Rome, either on feet or metro, or tram which stops right outside the hotel. If somebody stays there they should visit a small cafe \

Perfect location. Budget friendly.

Pros: Near the metro station - Flaminio Line A. Near Piazza Popolo. Near Carrefour express. Walking distance to shopping centre and to other tourists spots.

Cons: Security deposit was an inconvenient as they did not release it immediately after I check-out. I have to write them several emails to remind them about the hold in my credit card. In other hotels, it only take a matter of day to release the hold. It took more than 10 days for them to release the security deposit.

Loved our stay

Pros: The River Palace does not disappoint. Central to major sights and metro. Staff very helpful and friendly Rooms are compact but this is Rome........

Easy access to bus routes. Ideal for watching football.

Pros: Breakfast was outstanding, staff were really helpful too.
