Hotel Antica Locanda

Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the Colosseum, from which you can begin exploring the magical city of Rome. My stay at the Antica Locanda, just like last time, was of a very high standard. Everything met my expectations, so I can confidently recommend this hotel. Special recognition goes to the reception staff, especially Ms. Rossana, whose professionalism, kindness, and helpful attitude significantly enhance the overall quality of the hotel. Ms. Rossana is the most positive person in the entire hotel. She radiates positive energy, is always helpful, and definitely deserves the highest rating!!! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return on my next visit!!!

Overall great hotel in the middle of city center

Pros: Almost everything was great - the hotel by itself, the room (especially interior), location and staff.

Cons: Breakfast was good, but the same every morning, so after few days it could be minus.

Great city location, excellent for visiting antiquities and plenty of places to eat nearby.

Pros: Excellent location, close to the Colosseum and Forum. Within easy walking distance of Metro station to travel further afield. Half an hour walk to Vatican. The room was a good size, with a small lobby before entering the bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was good, once we got used to not having a buffet choice, the waiter was very efficient. Reception staff were really good. Breakfast tea was available! There were plenty of places close by to get an evening meal.

Cons: For me it was a bit noisy at night, the delivery and refuse vehicles seemed to start very early but I suppose that's part of city life. The bathroom was a bit smelly, maybe bad drains, ventilation was not good. As a non meat eater I didn't like having ham in the scrambled eggs at breakfast, nor the meats and cheeses mingling on the same plate. Wifi/Internet was rather hit and miss, internet seemed only to work in dining area or reception.

Pros: Beautiful hotel in a lovely area. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: My daughter and I enjoyed our time at Antica very much, we are great fans of small, family owned hotels and I was very pleased we chose it not only for its great location with close proximity to the best sites in Rome as well as to restaurants, cafes and gelatos, but also for the lovely service, wonderful staff and a nice breakfast, in beautiful surroundings and with access to a rooftop terrace.

Great location, comfy bed!

Pros: The location was amazing - it was very close to the Colosseum. The staff were very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the rooftop terrace was lovely and quiet. The breakfast was simple but substantial.

Cons: The shower in our room was tiny which wasn’t idea and the toilet began leaking on the second day with minimal use due to being out and about during the day.

Pros: Our second time staying at this hotel. Excellent breakfast. A very handy location near the metro and bus interchange. Rome was very busy while we were there, but it was quiet and cosy at Antica Locanda.

Lovely hotel at a perfect location

Pros: The service was very friendly in general. The room is beautiful and location perfect

Cons: A bit friendlier service at the breakfast would have been nice. Air condition made some noice and could be more efficient, also the room could have a bit more light.

Cons: It was quite noisy at night because there are lot of restaurants on street No air conditioning

A little gem in the heart of Rome

Pros: The location is excellent to walk to all the main sites of historic Rome. The staff were very helpful and every restaurant recommendation they made was perfect, whether we asked for a typical rustic taverna or a nice restaurant for our last evening.
