Villa Matissa Apartments

Excellent stay in central Trastevere

Pros: We liked the cleanliness, the beautiful outdoor space (garden) and fully functional kitchen. The location was excellent, we did not even use public transport as we could walk everywhere from the villa. We felt very safe going about the neighbourhood even at night, and it is a quiet area but very close to the lively piazzas full of life, culture and good restaurants. The host was very welcoming and responsive, with great tips on what to do and where to eat in the area. Would highly recommend.

Cons: The only thing I can complain about was the internet. We had WiFi but when the signal was not so good. Nevertheless, it is just a tiny complaint as we have nothing else to complain about.

Great quiet apartment within a secure complex which has everything you need on the doorstep.

Pros: Fantastic location within the lively Trastevere area. The apartment is within a gated complex and is really secure. I can not speak highly enough of Silvio. He was a great source of advice on many aspects. He has so many good recommendations. This is a brilliant base for anyone who is planning to go see all the city sights. Also only a 15/20 minute walk from the Trastevere rail station which has links to the airport. This place will not disappoint.

Wonderful accommodation in a perfect location

Pros: Absolutely wonderful accommodation in a beautiful setting in a perfect location. Silvio was an excellent host, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend to all my friends.

Cons: Absolutely nothing. I couldn’t faulty anything.

Pros: Our stay was simply amazing and went beyond my expectations. The man who runs matissa villa are so cute and kind. They go out of their way to be helpful in ways you can't expect.

A great base for exploring Rome

Pros: The apartment was in a quiet location but only a short walk from bars and restaurants. The comfortable apartment was spacious and had access to a fabulous garden. The host was friendly and helpful with information about bus routes etc.

Cons: The oven did not work when we were there. (The hob and microwave did).

Pros: Silvio was an excellent host and made sure we were comfortable. He gave us tips to move around and gave as very good suggestions on places to eat. He changed the curtain separating the bedroom area from the living room area to make sure there was not too much light in the morning. The communal garden is so lovely! The location is perfect, quite but at walking distance from busy trastevere.

Pros: Great location. Good facilities. Silvio, the owner, was also very helpful.

Wonderful oasis in a beautiful city

Pros: The apartment is an oasis set on a beautiful property in the lovely part of Rome called Trastevere. We walked everywhere around Rome to see all the sights and there are lots of great restaurants near the accommodation. The owner was extremely helpful especially when navigating train strikes from Salerno. We were also sent a list of places to see, recommended restaurants and allowed to leave luggage for our late flight. I’d definitely stay again if I’m back in Rome. Thank you 🙏🏻 Julia

Pros: The location of the apartment is wonderful. Close to bars, restaurants and bus station ... Silvio, the owner, was very nice and he is always ready to help.
